Man Dies In Dirt Bike Crash In Union County
A Plainfield man died following a crash into a telephone pole on a dirt bike while riding on the street without a helmet: Police.

PLAINFIELD, NJ — A Plainfield man died following a dirt bike crash on a city street early Thursday morning, police report.
At around 2:04 a.m., Plainfield Police arrived at the 100 Block of Stelle Avenue where they found a 24-year-old man suffering with life-threatening injuries.
An investigation found that the Plainfield resident was driving an off road, non-street legal dirt bike without a helmet west on Stelle Avenue when he crashed into a telephone pole, police report.

The victim was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.
"Since the incident occurred, the police have been made aware that there are allegations of this crash being the result of a police involved pursuit, which is not true. Detectives have obtained video footage from the area, which depict the tragic and unfortunate accident," Plainfield Police report.
