Man Wanted For Eluding State, Clark Police

Breaking: "Detectives are concerned that the suspect may pose a greater risk to the community by resorting to more dangerous crimes."

CLARK, NJ — State Police and Clark Police are asking for the public's help in identifying a man wanted for eluding police in two separate occasions. Police say he "may pose a continued risk to public safety."

The first incident occurred on Friday, April 7, when troopers from Troop “B” Somerville Station tried to stop the suspect, who was driving a silver Ford Focus, on eastbound Interstate 78 in the area of milepost 58.4 in Newark.

The man refused to stop and continued southbound onto the New Jersey Turnpike to exit 9 in New Brunswick where troopers stopped following the car. It was later found that the N.J. license plate, Y64GNE, was stolen out of Perth Amboy, State Police stated.

Less than a week later, on Wednesday, April 12, officers from Clark Police Department spotted the same car tried to stop it. The suspect once again refused to stop and officers followed the vehicle before stopping for safety reasons as it entered the Garden State Parkway, State Police reported.

A sketch was drawn based on multiple eyewitness accounts by Detective Dennis Cappello, of the New Jersey State Police Forensic Photography and Composite Artist Unit. A photo of the stolen car and license plate has also been shared with the public.
