Police Identify Motorcyclist Killed In Linden Crash: Update

UPDATE: The motorcyclist who was driving a 2004 Suzuki was identified. He fatally crashed into a 2007 Honda CRV on Wednesday night.

LINDEN, NJ — Authorities have identified the driver of a motorcycle who was killed after he crashed into a car in Linden on Wednesday night, police report.

Moustafa Elgendi, 21, of Fords was identified as the motorcyclist and fatal victim.

The motorcyclist was driving a 2004 Suzuki north on Roselle Street in the area of Monmouth Avenue when he collided with a 2007 Honda CRV on April 24 at around 6:20 p.m., Linden Police Lt. Christopher Guenther said.

The driver of the motorcycle was pronounced dead on scene, Guenther said. The motorcyclist's name is being withheld at this time pending notification of next of kin.

The driver of the Honda, a 21-year-old man from Brooklyn, New York, was treated on scene and airlifted to Newark University Hospital. He remains in critical condition as of Thursday afternoon.

The crash remains under investigation by the Linden Police Department Traffic Bureau, and anyone with information urged to contact investigator Peter Kozak at 908-474-8505.
