Multiple Burglaries To Clark Homes, Cars And Businesses Reported

Six people were also arrested for shoplifting from ShopRite in Clark in separate incidents, police report.

CLARK, NJ — Three cars, one home and one business in Clark were all burglarized last week in the township, police reported.

Clark Police Blotter:

On May 1 at 4:45 p.m.: Police took a report of a burglary to a motor vehicle that was parked in the lot at the Shop-Rite Supermarket at 76 Central Ave. The incident is under investigation. Police Officer Sergio Henriques was the investigating officer.

On May 1 at 6:11 p.m.: Police took a report of a burglary to a residence on Valley Road. The incident is under investigation. Police Officer Alexander Ruiz was the investigating officer.

On May 2 at 1:11 p.m.: At 76 Central Ave., police arrested Rita Rhett, 57, of Rahway, Jaquan Rhett, 32, of Rahway, Nafis Best, 19, of Elizabeth and Oscar McCray, 60, of Rahway for shoplifting merchandise valued at $392.05 from the ShopRite supermarket at 76 Central Ave. Rita Rhett, Nafis Best and Oscar McCray were released pending court dates. Jaquan Rhett was also charged with hindering apprehension. He was released on the Clark charges pending a court date and subsequently turned over to the North Brunswick Police Department on their warrant in the amount of $1,500 for contempt of court. Police Officer Andrew Medeiros was the arresting officer.

On May 3 at 12:56 p.m.: Police took a report of a burglary to a business in the vicinity of Raritan Road. The incident is under investigation. Police Officer Joshua Weber was the investigating officer.

On May 5 at 10:37 a.m.: Police took a report of a burglary to a motor vehicle that was parked at a residence on Hutchinson Street. The incident is under investigation. Police Officer Joshua Weber was the investigating officer.

On May 6 at 7:27 p.m.: Police took a report of a burglary to a motor vehicle that was parked at a business on Raritan Road. The incident is under investigation. Police Officer Alexander Ruiz was the investigating officer.

On May 7 at 8:55 p.m.: In the vicinity of Union County Parkway Drive, police arrested Dorcas Taylor, 29, of Linden for controlled dangerous substance possession. She was subsequently released on her own recognizance pending a court date. Police Officer Thedore McKeown was the arresting officer.

On May 7 at 10:13 p.m.: At 76 Central Ave., police arrested Christopher Day, Jr, 26, of Milltown and Rachel Cordova, 26, of Milltown for shoplifting merchandise, valued at $55.98, from the ShopRite supermarket at 76 Central Ave. Day was also charged with possession of controlled dangerous substance paraphernalia and detained on outstanding warrants, totaling $2,000 from Mount Laurel for contempt of court. Cordova was also charged with possession of hypodermic needles and detained on an outstanding warrant in the amount of $750 from North Brunswick for contempt of court. Both individuals were subsequently released pending court dates on all charges. Police Officer Brad Dustin was the arresting officer.
