The mural, created by Garwood Girl Scouts, depicted 9 stick figures with mirrors in place of their faces. The mirrors had been ripped off.
GARWOOD, NJ — A mural painted by Garwood Girl Scouts at Hartman Park was recently defaced.
The mural, depicting nine stick figures with mirrors in place of their faces, was painted by troop #42000 on the storage shed at Hartman Park off 2nd Avenue a few years ago.
Garwood Patrol Officers inspected the mural Thursday to find some of the mirrors were either cracked or missing.

"None of the damage appeared to be recent and it is unknown at this time who damaged the artwork," Garwood Police Chief Jim Wright said.
On a brighter note, Wright said the members of the Garwood PBA Local #117 have taken it upon themselves to purchase new mirrors and restore the mural to its original condition.
