A Positive Solution for Garwood

Brenda Steve and I are extremely humbled and excited to have received the nomination of the Garwood Republican Party to represent all residents in November’s election for Mayor and Council. We want to thank all of you who came out to vote and those of you who stopped by our booth at Garwood Rocks showing your support and expressing your gratitude that we are committed to you and leading a positive campaign.

It is unfortunate and sad that my mayoral opponent has decided to kick off her campaign with such negativity and falsehoods, instead of offering a platform for Garwood residents. I will continue to run a positive campaign on our platform and my record which includes:

*Fighting to keep dispatch in Garwood which my opponents were against.
*Expanding recreation for all of our children and adults.
*Correcting the mismanagement in past years, like competitive rates to rent our athletic field increasing our revenue over $55,000 per year.
*Being fiscally responsible.
* Drive safety initiatives, on 2nd and Cedar to see real progress.

* Continue calling for better transparency and communication.

Our borough received $1 million in additional revenue in this years budget. We should not be “happy” with a tax increase or consider it a great accomplishment. I supported aspects of this budget, like the addition of the 17 police officer, the implementation of "MyRec" for electronic sign ups and increasing dispatch salaries, all of which I stated on the record. What I did not support was the extensive administrative raises with lack of performance reviews, the multiple additions to the budget after adoption and the impact to the operating budget caused by the past few years of spending. I spoke about the impact of increasing debt numerous times then watched in the next breath my opponent approve $1.2 million dollars in more spending. I stand by my vote and I am proud to have represented the residents.

I choose not to engage in the negative, disingenuous, disinformation campaign my opponent has launched because my family, my friends and the residents of Garwood that I serve deserve better. I will offer residents my platform and vision on Garwood's future as well as highlight the areas in need of improvement.
