Power Outage Closes Lincoln School In Garwood Thursday

Downed wires and damaged utility poles forced the school closure as several nearby roads remained shut down Thursday morning.

GARWOOD, NJ — Lincoln School in Garwood was closed Thursday after downed electrical lines, damaged utility poles, and a power outage impacted the area, according to the Garwood Police Department.

Police said Second Avenue remained closed between Cedar Street and Maple Street, while Walnut Street was also closed between North Avenue and Third Avenue Thursday morning.

Officials urged residents not to drive over or walk near downed wires or damaged utility poles.

PSE&G has been notified, police said. There was no estimated timeline for power restoration as of Thursday morning.
