Roselle Man Dies Following Pedestrian Crash In Linden

A Roselle man was identified as the victim who was fatally hit by a minivan, driven by a Clark man, just before midnight Monday: Police.

LINDEN, NJ — A fatal auto pedestrian crash was reported just before midnight on Monday in Linden involving a Roselle and Clark man.

The crash was reported around 11:45 p.m. on Sunday on the 400 block of Raritan Road, Linden Police report.

A 2003 Chrysler Minivan, driven by a 72-year-old Clark man, was going east when it fatally collided with a man in the roadway, police report.

The victim, identified as 56-year-old Eric Mathis of Roselle, was treated on scene by Linden Fire Department personnel and transported to Trinitas Regional Medical Center in Elizabeth where he was later pronounced deceased, police report.

The driver was not injured in the crash.
