Stolen SUV Crashes Into Tree During Police Chase In Linden
2 men and 2 juveniles were all taken into custody in connection with the stolen SUV in Linden, police said.
LINDEN, NJ — A stolen SUV crashed into a tree while trying to get away from police on Wednesday night in Linden, authorities said.
On Aug. 21 at about 11:40 p.m. Linden Police tried to stop a 2013 Toyota Highlander. The SUV pulled over, but sped away when police officers got out of their car, Linden Police Lt. Christopher Guenther said.
Police chased the SUV until it crashed into a tree on the 200 block of S. Stiles Street. The driver and three passengers got out and ran away, police said.

Three of the passengers were caught in backyards nearby, while the fourth was caught near S. Park Avenue by an officer working an off-duty construction job, police said.
The driver, identified as Yeuris Sandobal, 18, of Elizabeth, was charged with second-degree resisting arrest, fourth-degree obstructing arrest, and fourth-degree possession of stolen property.

Juan Marin-Tangarife, 18, of Elizabeth, is also charged with fourth-degree obstructing arrest
and fourth-degree possession of stolen property.
Arteaga and Marin-Tangarife were both treated for minor injuries following the crash. They were later released pending an appearance in superior court.
Two juveniles were also taken into custody in connection with the incident. They were released pending the filing of complaints in Family Court.
