Trapped Driver Rescued After SUV Crashes Into Tree In Clark

Clark Firefighters helped rescue a driver trapped inside an Acura SUV after it crashed into a tree off the Garden State Parkway Friday.

CLARK, NJ — A trapped driver was rescued by Clark Firefighters following a crash into a tree off the Garden State Parkway on Friday morning.

A white Acura SUV crashed into a tree off the southbound side of the Garden State Parkway in the maintenance yard in Clark, according to New Jersey State Police Sgt. Jeff Flynn.

Two people were inside when Clark firefighters arrived, Clark Fire Chief Frank Cerasa said.

Firefighters were able to help the driver escape, Cerasa said.

Both people were transported to University Hospital in Newark with injuries, Flynn said.

The crash remains under investigation.
