Trinitas Medical Center Waives Co-Pays Of Unpaid Federal Workers

Trinitas Regional Medical Center in Elizabeth is the latest provider to join others in an effort to help furloughed federal workers.

ELIZABETH, NJ — Trinitas Regional Medical Center in Elizabeth have announced they are joining the steady stream of companies and groups assisting federal workers who are going unpaid during the government shutdown.

Co-pays will be waived for those who are not receiving paychecks, Yolanda Fleming spokeswoman of Trinitas told Patch Tuesday.

"If someone presents a federal ID we will waive their co-pay," Fleming said.

The partial federal government shutdown is now in its 31st day, and 800,000 federal employees are going without pay. That includes some 5,000 New Jersey residents.
