What does it mean to Blumenstock to have a BIG Heart?

I want to thank Mayoral Candidate Jen Blumenstock for writing an article on the Patch because similar to a college essay, it gives the reader a window into the way the writer thinks, behaves and reacts.

The only thing that is for sure is that CHANGE is constant. That is what evolving means. Garwood will ALWAYS be a Small Town with a Big Heart, where neighbors know each other, help one another, and look out for one another.

While so many of people have lived in Garwood for many years, having a big heart means making ALL of your neighbors feel welcomed and looked out for.

I am wondering what does having a big heart mean to Jen Blumenstock?

• Does it mean telling lies to get votes?
• Does it mean talking behind people’s backs rather than approaching them and asking them to have a conversation?
• Does it mean knocking on doors and spreading “hearsay” or “rumors”?
• Does it mean discriminating against a neighbor that didn’t grow up here?
• Does it mean being hypocritical- like using Airbnb, VRBO or renting a summer house yourself but then attacking someone else who wants to be a part of the magic?
• Telling people that neighbors were complaining when in fact Jen was knocking on doors telling people about a quiet home who had an out-of-town guest in her HOME?

Many times we think we know someone because our kids go to school together or we see them volunteer in the community. Ask yourself, do you REALLY know Jennifer Blumenstock? Did you know she was capable of the bullet points I list above? Are these the character traits we want in the person leading our town?
