What's for Dinner Tonight? Sweet and Sour Brisket

4/5 LB beef brisket

2 large onions, sliced thin

1 clove garlic,minced

1 tsp salt

6 tbsp ketchup

4(12 oz) cans lemon lime soda

3 bay leaves

6 tbsp cider vinegar

4 tbsp brown sugar

2 cups white raisins

Brown meat on all sides,in a very large stockpot. Add onions and cook until brown.Add garlic,lemon lime soda and bay leaves. Cover and cook on low heat for 2 hours. Remove brisket and slice thin against the grain on a slant. Place slices back into the pot. Add remaining ingredients and cook for 1 hour or until tender. serve with wide noodles. 

NOTE: I added more ketchup,bwn sugar, and cider vinegar to get a more robust sweet and sour flavor;) This is a great recipe because you can alter it to your taste an liking.
