Route 130 has been regarded as at least among — if not the — most dangerous highways in the state. In 2015, two stretches of the highway occupied a spot on an nj.com list. Prior to that, the nonprofit Tri-State Transportation Campaign named Route 130 the Most Dangerous Road in New Jersey for pedestrians five years in a row.
