3 Fugitives Charged With Drugs, Weapons in South Jersey: Sheriff

They were initially stopped for a traffic violation in Camden on Tuesday.

Three fugitives were arrested and charged with weapons and narcotics possession in Camden, Camden County Sheriff Charles Billingham said on Thursday.

Billingham initially stopped a car for an alleged traffic violation in the area of 7th and Linden Streets in Camden around 2:20 p.m. on Tuesday.

Billingham learned that three people in the car were allegedly wanted on active warrants. Further investigation revealed they were allegedly in possession of two handguns, one of which was stolen from Philadelphia, and a substantial amount of heroin.

Emir Blackward, 21, Robert McFadden, 25, and Jakaite Pettey, 25, were charged with with 11 counts each of weapons and drug offenses.

All three were remanded to the county jail with cash or bond set at $75,000 for Pettey, $100,000 for Blackward and $75,000 for McFadden. McFadden also has a prior parole violation and will not be considered for bail.
