ICE Banned From Property Owned By Collingswood

Employees of the borough are also not allowed to assist ICE operations.

COLLINGSWOOD, NJ — Federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents are now banned from entering or using borough-owned property for enforcement.

The Collingswood Board of Commissioners unanimously approved a resolution on Thursday that also bars municipal employees from aiding ICE actions through the use of borough resources.

"The Borough of Collingswood has a longstanding commitment to the health, safety, and welfare of all residents...including its diverse immigrant communities," the resolution states, "and is committed to ensuring that all residents can access Borough services and facilities without fear."

Unless pursuant to a valid warrant, order, or otherwise required by law, this resolution also prohibits federal, state, and local governments from using Collingswood property as a staging area, processing location, operations base, or other similar site.

The policy applies to all borough employees, officers, contractors, and agents of all departments, agencies, authorities, boards, and commissions in their official capacity.

While nearby towns, like Lindenwold, have had the more recent run-ins with federal agents, Collingswood is no stranger to ICE activity.

In July of 2025, the FBI and ICE arrested four people in the borough who federal officials said were in the United States illegally.

Just a few months earlier, the operators of Collingswood's "Jersey Kebab" had their Mediterranean eatery raided by ICE when the restaurant was located in Haddon Township.

On April 16, Camden County instituted its own ban prohibiting ICE from using County-owned grounds and resources to conduct operations. Read More: Leaders Approve ICE Ban In Camden County
