Camden Man Charged in Double Shooting That Resulted in 1 Death

The shooting took place early Saturday morning. Vyron J. Johnson was arrested Saturday night.

A Camden man has been arrested in connection with the shooting of two men over the weekend, including one who died as a result of his injuries.

Vyron J. Johnson, 29, is charged with first-degree murder in the death of 57-year-old Patrick Lowe and first-degree attempted murder (bail set at $1,000,000.00 full cash) of 32-year-old Tauhid Taylor.

Lowe and Taylor were found suffering from gunshot wounds on the 1200 block of Whitman Avenue in Camden at about 2:55 a.m. Saturday morning.

They were found by Camden County Police, who were responding to a ShotSpotter activation for multiple gunshots.

They were both taken to Cooper University Hospital.

Lowe succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.

Taylor was listed in stable condition after surgery.

Following an investigation, Johnson was arrested by US Marshal Service Fugitive Task Force officers, assisted by Detectives from the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office and Camden County Police Department.

He was arrested at about 8:50 p.m. Saturday night near the intersection of South 6th and Royden Streets in Camden.

Bail was set at $2 million full cash in the death of Lowe, and $1 million full cash in Taylor’s shooting. He was remanded to the Camden County Jail in lieu of posting bail.
