Camden Man Sentenced to 31 Years in Pair of Shootings
Anthony Fontanez, 24, must serve 23.5 years before becoming eligible for parole.

A Camden man has been sentenced to 31 years in prison after being found guilty in a pair of Camden shootings that took place in 2010, Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo announced on Monday.
Anthony Fontanez, 24, must serve 23.5 years before becoming eligible for parole.
Fontanez was found guilty in May of three counts of aggravated assault and counts of possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and conspiracy to commit aggravated assault.

He was found guilty of shooting a barber in his shop on the 400 block of North 27th Street on Sept. 23, 2010.
The barber, a 26-year-old male, survived his injuries. The jury determined it was a botched robbery attempt.

Fontanez was also found guilty of attempted murder, three more counts of aggravated assault and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose for the shooting of a 29-year-old on the 1000 block of North 25th Street later the same night.
The second victim wasn’t struck, but Fontanez fired repeatedly into the victim’s car in an attempt to kill him.
This shooting took place three hours later, and the victim apparently was involved in a previous dispute with Fontanez.
He was found guilty of possession of a weapon without a license in both shootings.
Fontanez was 20 years old at the time of the offenses.
