Collingswood Announces Athletic Hall of Fame Class

Eighteen individuals and three teams will be inducted into its Athletic Hall of Fame.

Eighteen individuals and three teams have been selected to become the latest members of the Collingswood High School Athletic Hall of Fame. The group will be inducted at the 23rd annual induction banquet at the Crowne Plaza in Cherry Hill on March 2.

More than 400 alumni and friends of Collingswood attend the induction ceremony held each year. The list of 2013 inductees include:

  • Richard Luongo, 1952
  • Alan Craig, 1956
  • George Lee, 1956
  • Dave James, 1962
  • John Riley, 1967
  • Debbie Durham Bartleson, 1973
  • Jon Holmes, 1973
  • Pat Ciervo, 1976
  • Scott Wight, 1977
  • Bob Diehle, 1981
  • Lisa Fuchs, 1982
  • Karen McIntyre, 1985
  • Josh Beyer, 1992
  • Morgan Sheaffer, 1993
  • Raymond Bancroft, 1917, Lifetime Achievement (Posthumous)
  • Lt. Col. Al Bancroft, 1958, Lifetime Achievement
  • Gerard Banmiller (Community Service)
  • Ron Ross (Coach).

The 1966 baseball, field hockey and football teams will all be honored with inductions as well.

The Collingswood High School Athletic Hall of Fame was organized in 1990 and continues to serve the duel purpose of recognizing top athletes and coaches and raising scholarship money for graduating Collingswood student athletes.

The Collingswood High School Athletic Hall of Fame provides more than $65,000 annually in scholarships to more than fifteen student athletes.

Tickets for the event are $40 a person. They can be purchased through the high school athletic office or by writing to the Banquet Committee, Collingswood Athletic Hall of Fame, PO Box 512, Collingswood, NJ 08108.

The dealine for purchase is Monday, Feb. 25.
