I accidently fell asleep last night and had left my car on the street where I live. I have lived here 7 years now and at night I leave my front porch light on.
I woke up this morning and remembered I'd left the car out and went to get it off the street and found this note on my windshield. In this area of Collingswood there are not to many driveways and most folks do have to park on the street. It is what it is. I just wonder how many other folks got the same notice I got? And they have no other place to park!
According to the notice no cars are allowed on the street between 2 AM and 6 AM otherwise you can be ticketed. As I recall from my youth this ordinance was made during World War 2 for emergency purposes. Hello, this is the 2000's Collingswood Officials!
I keep asking myself what has happened to common sense in this boro? I've lived here since 1961. Hello, Collingwood quit trying to become another Haddonfield, no one can be that snotty (can they?) Just asking.
I think someone needs to put this ordinance in the trash can and WAKE UP to REALITY! This isn't the 1940's and we have many more cars now that 70 years ago! Some people can even afford two! Da?
Just seems to me its just another way the Town Fathers are trying to line their Boro Coffers.
Lastly, if a police officer got out of his car to put this notice on my windshield, he couldn't walk 50 feet and bang on my door? I don't get it.
