Collingswood May Fair To Attract Thousands May 26

Collingswood's biggest party of the year is next weekend.

COLLINGSWOOD, NJ — Collingswood’s biggest party of the year is next weekend. The 39th annual May Fair is May 26 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will span more than 10 blocks of Haddon Ave with cars, rides, crafts, music, food, games and more.

“Half of the Delaware Valley is at the shore the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend,” Collingswood Mayor James Maley said. “The other half is in Collingswood. It's one of Collingswood's most iconic days. Of all the festivals we throw, this is the granddaddy of them all.”

The rain date is May 27, noon to 5 p.m.

The May Fair also includes an antique and classic car show. The Delaware Valley Old Goat Club will join other clubs and classics that come vying to win top prizes and trophies during the event.

The 2018 May Fair will also have new performances from South Pacific Island Dancers and circus and aerial acrobatics from Ethos Physical Theatre Company both on Powell Lane.

The annual fair attracts about 50,000 guests, nearly quadruple the population of Collingswood — all in the heart of its downtown in one day. It’s also a great day to shop the town’s local retail and restaurants that offer specials.

“There really is something for everyone at May Fair,” May Fair Committee Chairman Jerry Chambers said. “There's so much to do it's a fun challenge just making it through the entire fair! We're always updating acts and changing things to make it more exciting, but no matter what it's one of the best days for families, residents and guests. It's true Collingswood and a lot of fun.”

The event is thanks to the May Fair committee, Collingswood Partners, Inc., the Borough of Collingswood, presenting sponsor Parke Bank, corporate sponsors Brown & Connery, Mr. Tire, Parkview at Collingswood, DE Valley ACURA Dealers and dozens of other local sponsors.
