Collingswood Moves Up In NJ Monthly's School Rankings

Collingswood moved up in NJ Monthly's annual high school rankings, released on Friday.

COLLINGSWOOD, NJ — Collingswood High School is making its way up New Jersey Monthly’s annual list of the best schools in the state. Collingswood ranked 197th on this year’s list of New Jersey's 305 best high schools. Last year, it was No. 239.

The 2018-19 rankings were released on Friday, and the results were published by Patch with permission. (See the full list here.)

New Jersey Monthly also published information that shows: grade 12 enrollment; student-faculty ratio; number of AP subjects offered; percentages of 11th and 12th grade students taking AP courses; percentages of students scoring high on the SAT; and the graduation rates. The figures also include the percentages of students enrolled in college 16 months after high school.

Collingswood High School has 188 seniors and a student-faculty ratio of 11-1. It offers 12 AP subjects, and 48.2 percent of students take at least one AP course. Sixty-one percent of students score higher than 530 on the SAT, and 78 percent were at or above 480 on the reading and writing portion of the SAT. Collingswood’s graduation rate is 90.5 percent, and 68.6 percent of Collingswood High School students were enrolled in college 16 months after graduation.

To arrive at the rankings, New Jersey Monthly looked at the state Department of Education's most recent New Jersey School Performance Reports. Only public high schools were included in the rankings. (You can read more about the methodology here.)
