Collingswood Summer Youth Theatre presents POCAHONTAS

Bring the whole family, both young and old, to enjoy the beautiful music and tale of Pocahontas

The Collingswood Summer Youth Theatre will be presenting the children’s musical “Pocahontas” on July 28, 29 and 30 at 7:30pm with a matinee on Thursday, July 30 at 1pm. All performances will be held at the Collingswood Middle School, 414 Collings Avenue, Collingswood, NJ  08108, in the air-conditioned auditorium. The cast of 65 students from grades 3 through 8 will be singing and dancing in this family-friendly show.

The “Wordspinner” and the rhythmic beat of the tom-toms open and close this charming musical adventure for all age groups. Pocahontas is the daughter of the mighty Algonquin Chief Powhatan. The princess delights in playing with Raven, Wolf and Squirrel. Pocahontas has also made friends with the English settlers of Jamestown, a community struggling with starvation and sickness. This enchanting musical is graced with a wonderful cast of characters: Little Running Rabbit, Brave Eagle, Aunt Morning Star, Forest Spirits, Mother Earth and, of course, the people of Jamestown. Filled with Native American lore and beautiful music, this play is true to the original legend.
