Collingswood Woman Target Of Vandalism, Threats Over Trump Support

The woman responded with a "Liberal Hate Has No Home Here" sign, the Philly Voice reports.

COLLINGSWOOD, NJ — “Liberal hate has no home here.” That’s the message one Collingswood resident has for people who have been vandalizing her home and harassing her over her visible support for President Donald Trump, the Philly Voice reports.

Lauren Boisvert told the website’s Kevin Shelly there have been 20 different incidents on her street in the year since Trump announced his candidacy.

Boisvert, who denies accusations that she's racist and hates Muslims, said her car was keyed, banners were stolen and an American flag was stolen from her home. Someone even threatened to burn down her home.

So she put the sign, obviously based on the “Hate Has No Home Here” signs that started in Chicago and are now all over Collingswood.

After she put the sign up, she says she gets “a thumbs up more often than not.”

Trump supporters are in the minority not just in Collingswood, but in Camden County as a whole.

In November's presidential election, Democrat Hillary Clinton defeated Trump with just over 64 percent of the vote.

Collingswood is known for its liberal-leaning voters. It was home to a vigil for the victims of a shooting at a homosexual nightclub in Orlando last summer.

In the first week after same-sex marriage became legal in New Jersey, the Scottish Rite Theater played host to 10 same-sex marriages in one day.
