"DIY PR" Classes Offered in April as Part of Haddonfield Adult School

Haddonfield, NJ -- Haddonfield Adult School is offering a class that will help non-profits and small-business owners navigate the tricky waters of public relations. The new Thursday night class, called “DIY PR,” will be held on April 7 and 14 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

The classes will teach participants relevant communications skills such as how to write press releases that are interesting to the media and how to create appropriate media lists. The class is good for all levels of public relations skills, so everyone will be able to execute the materials and apply them to his or her business strategies.

The instructor is Cheryl Squadrito, owner of Media Friendly Public Relations and former journalist for the Courier-Post and The Philadelphia Inquirer. She is also an adjunct professor in the Strategic Communications department at Temple University in Philadelphia.

“I’ve talked to many people who want their companies or foundations to be on the news but have no idea to how do it,” Squadrito says. “I want this class to help people understand how the PR field works and unravel the mystery. I hope people who take this course will see a clearer picture of why some press releases get picked up by the media and why some go straight in the trash can.”

Anyone is eligible to register for classes at Haddonfield Adult School. The two-day course is $35. The class will be held in a school in the Haddonfield School District.
