Donald Norcross Wins First Congressional District Seat in Two-Part Race

Norcross won the race for Rob Andrews' unexpired term, as well as the race for the regular two-year term.

Norcross, a State Senator, defeated Republican Garry Cobb, a former Philadelphia Eagle and a Cherry Hill resident, according to unofficial results Tuesday night.

Voters in Camden, Burlington and Gloucester counties awarded the seat to Norcross in a two-part election.

Nocross won the special election for the unexpired seat that became available when Rob Andrews resigned to pursue a position with Dilworth Paxson earlier this year.

He also won the regular two-year term.

Norcross is the brother of Democratic powerbroker George Norcross. Cobb claimed he couldn’t raise funding in the race because of a fear among potential donors of political backlash from George Norcross.
