DWI Checkpoints to be Set Up on White Horse Pike

The checkpoints will be in effect Sept. 13 and 20, from 10 p.m.-4 a.m.

A DWI checkpoint will be set up on the White Horse Pike for two consecutive weekends.

The checkpoints will be in effect on Sept. 13 and 20 from 10 p.m.-4 a.m. on the White Horse Pike near Colby Avenue in both east and west bound lanes.

The stated purpose of the checkpoints, established by the Camden County Drunk Driving Task Force, is to deter intoxicated drivers from getting behind the wheel.

Anyone found to be under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs will be arrested and their vehicles will be subject to impoundment.

Funding for these initiatives was provided by the Camden County Prosecutors Office and New Jersey Office of Highway Traffic Safety.

Since 2009, the Camden County Task Force has operated along the White Horse Pike corridor and the assigned officers from

Stratford, Somerdale, Magnolia, Laurel Springs and Hi-Nella are

responsible for removing over 1,000 drunk drivers from the highway.

These enforcement efforts will continue through 2015.
