Federal Shutdown Has No Impact on Camden County Services

Camden County officials made a clarification on Friday afternoon: The shutdown of the federal government does not have an impact county services, which are all still available to the public.

“Just because the federal government cannot come to terms on a budget and spending plan doesn’t mean there is an impact on our operations,” Camden County Freeholder Director Louis Cappelli said. “We continue to do the work of the people by repaving roads, policing the streets, recording deeds and educating students.”

Since the beginning of the federal government shut down on Tuesday, residents have been contacting county offices and asking if county services are still available.

The answer is yes, Capelli said, and all county departments continue to run on schedule.

The federal government shutdown entered its fourth day on Friday, with little sign of coming to an end, Reuters reports.
