Garfield Park Academy Announces New Director of Social Work

Audra Snyder Joins Professional Staff at School for Students with Disabilities

Willingboro, NJ –Garfield Park Academy, a not-for-profit NJ State approved school serving students with learning, social and emotional disabilities, is proud to welcome Audra Snyder L.C.S.W. as the Director of Social Work.

Ms. Snyder earned her B.A. from Alfred University and later earned her M.S.W. from the University of Pennsylvania. Her years of experience include crises and intervention work with children, teens and adults; management and development of effective psychotherapy practices for families; and planning and implementation of social service programs for state and local agencies. She has developed and implemented curriculum for social and emotional development/intervention for students utilizing The Nurtured Heart Approach of positive reinforcement.

“We are thrilled to welcome Audra to our team of professional and dedicated staff members,” said Dr. Morse. “I am confident that her experience and skill set will benefit both our students, their families, and our team of social workers and educators,” he concluded.

Garfield Park Academy is approved by the New Jersey Department of Education and serves students ages 5-21 who have a history of learning, social, emotional, and behavioral challenges. The school’s program is a positively-based cognitive behavioral program focused on helping students to develop appropriate social skills. The program uses evidence-based strategies to teach and reinforce skills, which allow students to grow and advance in school, at home and in the community. Garfield Park Academy works closely with sending districts to help prepare students to return to public school services, whenever appropriate. Most students are placed by local school districts at no cost to families.
