Learn About Water Safety at the Camden County Boys and Girls Club

More than 200 children, ages 6 to 9 years old, will learn the importance of water safety through swimming classes, classroom curriculum, and various hands-on activities, during the ZAC Camp at the Boys & Girls Club of Camden County.

The camp runs daily Aug. 17-20, 9 a.m.-4 p.m., with an Awards Ceremony on Aug. 20, 12:30 p.m.

Club kids from Camden and Gloucester Counties will attend the Camp.

Special guests Olympic Gold Medalist Rowdy Gaines, ZAC Foundation co-founder Karen Cohn, U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission Chairman Elliot F. Kaye, and Assemblyman Troy Singleton will join campers at the Awards Ceremony.

Karen and Brian Cohn founded The ZAC Foundation in 2008 after their son Zachary drowned after becoming trapped in the suction of a swimming pool drain.

The ZAC Foundation is devoted to educating the public of the importance of water safety to prepare children and their families for a lifetime of safety, and has partnered with BGCA to bring ZAC Camps to 20 selected clubs in 2015.

The Boys & Girls Club of Camden County was selected through a rigorous application process due to its commitment to advancing safety locally.

The Boys & Girls Club of Camden County is located at the East Camden Clubhouse, 2 North Dudley Street in Camden.
