Pennsauken Man Charged With Robbery of Merchantville Bank

Damon Williams allegedly robbed Bank of America on Aug. 13.

A Pennsauken man has been charged in a bank robbery that took place in Merchantville on Aug. 13, Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo and Merchantville Police Chief Wayne Bauer announced Thursday afternoon.

Damon Williams was charged with second degree robbery in the heist of a Bank of America on the first block of West Maple Avenue.

He allegedly entered the bank around 9:45 a.m. that day and passed a note to a teller demanding cash.

He then left the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash and fled in a vehicle from the scene.

Williams was arrested Thursday morning around 10:30 a.m. as he reported to a parole officer in Camden.
