CAMDEN COUNTY, NJ — A person was rescued near a flooded river Monday as heavy rain pummelled Camden County.

First responders rescued the individual after they took refuge this morning at a pavilion by the inundated Cooper River. The person was removed safely and without incident, according to the Collingswood Fire Department.

The round of storms, which entered the region Sunday evening, brought several inches of rain and flooding throughout the county. Forecasters expect clearer skies for the rest of Monday, but the heavy precipitation's impacts will linger, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).
