“Pretty in Pink” fund-raiser doubled last year’s success

Malton, NJ— Andrea’s Boutique, an up-scale women’s clothing boutique hosted “Pretty in Pink”, a one-day cancer awareness event on October 10, 2013 in Marlton.  The store raised about $2,100, doubled the amount from last year’s event, which will help the needs of local breast cancer and ovarian cancer survivors.

Andrea Hernberg, owner of the boutique will donate 10% of the proceeds from the second annual “Pretty in Pink” event to Andrea’s Angels, a charitable extension of Andrea’s Boutique. Hernberg also raffled clothing from premier vendors and provided snacks and pink martinis for her customers.

“The support and output of the event was overwhelming. People just came in and were happy to be there for the cause,” said Hernberg.

“Everyone called the next day and said it was a great event,” she said.

Currently Hernberg is working with social workers to make sure the money goes to local cancer survivors. She believes in helping survivors with their individual needs, whether it’s purchasing wigs for those who cannot afford them or paying household bills for those who cannot pay them.
