Raise A Mocktail To Dry January Wednesday At Camden County Event
The alcohol-free event for the "sober curious" and those in recovery at Gem Life + Bar features a book signing with advocate Marci Hopkins.

COLLINGSWOOD, NJ — Dry January is an opportunity to start the new year alcohol-free, and two women advocating for sober lifestyles are collaborating on a book signing and mocktail event in Collingswood.
Author and recovery advocate Marci Hopkins will be at a booze-free bottle shop in Collingswood on Jan. 26 to offer a safe space for those in recovery or who are "sober-curious" and do a book-signing.
The "Sober Sip + Sign" is Thursday at 6 p.m. at Gem Life + Bar (557 Haddon Avenue, Collingswood), according to a news release. Gem, a shop focused on self-care, is owned by South Jersey native Drew Davis. A sober lifestyle has been a positive impact for both women.

Davis was diagnosed with acute pancreatitis, she told Fox 29 in 2021. She found that her symptoms of anxiety, inflammation, and neuropathy improved after she stopped drinking. She opened Gem, which features features non-alcoholic beer, wine, and liquor as well as products for spiritual wellness and home decor.
Hopkins recently celebrated seven years of sobriety and her memoir, Chaos to Clarity: Seeing the Signs and Breaking the Cycles, addresses owning behaviors and habits from the past and moving from victim to survivor.
