Retiring Cobbler From Haddonfield Honored by Community

Retiring cobbler James A. Spinelli, 94, of Haddonfield, was met with quite a sendoff this week, njpen.com reports.

A crowd gathered outside his Quaker Shoe Repair shop to recognize Spinelli for his 73 years of dedication, according to the report.

He began his apprenticeship when he was 11 years old. Herbert Hoover was President of the United States.

He was described as an “impeccable gentleman,” who continues to fix things at a time when things are made to be thrown away when they broke, rather than be repaired.
