S.J. Man Who Allegedly Led Cops on 100 MPH Chase Charged With DWI: Reports

The chase happened on a Maryland highway Monday afternoon.

A South Jersey man has been charged with driving under the influence after leading police in Maryland on a high-speed chase that exceeded 100 mph, wobc.com reports.

Dale Eldridge Jr., 45, of Woodstown, allegedly led police on a chase that began just after 2 p.m. Monday, and concluded with him hitting stop sticks that were put in place by the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office, according to the report. The chase stretched over a nine-mile span, beginning at Route 50 and 589.

No one was injured, and the chase lasted six minutes.

The chase began after Maryland State Troopers attempted to stop Eldridge’s 2002 Toyota Tercel, according to delmarvanow.com.

It is the second time in four months Eldridge has been arrested on drunk driving charges. In September, he was charged with DUI in East Lampeter, PA., according to lancasteronline.com.
