South Jersey Borough Suing Philadelphia Over 2010 Fire Boat Accident
Boats from Westville and Philadelphia were responding to a fire at the time of the accident, the Courier Post reports.
The Borough of Westville has filed a lawsuit against the City of Philadelphia over a fire boat accident in 2010 that allegedly caused by a Philadelphia fire boat that caused extensive damage to a Westville fire boat that resulted in a total loss, the Courier Post reports.
The two boats were responding to a fire at a BP Petroleum Plant on the Delaware River, according to the report. The Westville boat arrived first, extinguished the blaze, and the Philadelphia boat was told to ”hold off.” The Philadelphia boat turned abruptly, and caused two large wakes that affected the Westville boat, according to the report.
