Viewfinder: Mummers Strut It Up in Collingswood

Collingswood was Mummer-fied Wednesday during the latest installment of the strutting string bands taking over the borough.

Hegemen String Band began the concert with a few catchy numbers, including "Mr. Sandman" and "I'm Looking Over a Four Leaf Clover" to wake up the crowd.

Before long, the crowd went from clapping in time to strutting like Mummers out on the street. They event had a little Mummers Strut contest.

The show ended with several patriotic songs to mark the upcoming Fourth of July.

Mummers string bands play in Collingswood the fourth Wednesday of the month through September. The next show, featuring Quaker City, is July 27 on Powell Lane plaza at the LumberYard.
