West Virginia Man Shot to Death in Camden Saturday Night

The man was a former resident of the city.

A former Camden resident who recently moved to West Virginia was shot to death in the City this weekend, Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo and Camden County Police Chief Scott Thomson said Monday morning.

Police found 27-year-old Raheem L. Gilbert suffering from gunshot wounds on the porch of a residence on the 400 block of Viola Street in Camden around 10:30 Saturday night. They had been reporting to the scene for a report of a person shot.

Gilbert was transported to Cooper University Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at 11:39 p.m.

Detectives are working to determine a motive. No arrests have been made at this time.
