Stabbing Suspects Arrested In Union County

Officials said three people, including two adults and a juvenile, were charged following a stabbing investigation at Wheeler Park in Linden.

UNION COUNTY, NJ — Three people have been arrested following a stabbing investigation at Wheeler Park in Linden that left a 14-year-old boy injured last month, according to Union County officials.

Police said Union County Regional Dispatch received a 911 call at approximately 5:15 p.m. on April 18, 2026, reporting a stabbing inside the park. Responding officers from both the Union County Police Department and Linden Police Department located the teen with visible lacerations to the left side of his back.

The victim was transported to JFK University Medical Center in Edison for treatment of stab wounds and lacerations, officials said.

An investigation led by the Union County Police Department’s Investigations Division determined the victim was assaulted by three individuals, including one suspect who allegedly used a knife during the incident. The Union County Prosecutor’s Office approved charges in the case, according to officials.

Two adult suspects were arrested on May 4. Authorities said Jaquan Roberts of Linden was taken into custody, charged, and remanded to the Essex County Jail pending a detention hearing.

Kayla Oliveira, also of Linden, was arrested, charged, and released pending a court appearance in Union County Superior Court.

A third suspect, a juvenile, later turned themselves in on May 6. Officials said the juvenile was charged and released pending a hearing in Union County Family Court.

Charges in the case include aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of a weapon, terroristic threats, and endangering the welfare of a child, among others, according to officials.
