1. Cranford Mayor, Westfield Residents Among Union County SHERO Honorees (patch.com) — Cranford residents, including Mayor Kathleen Miller Prunty and several other local women, are being honored with Union County’s 2026 SHERO Award for their leadership and community service. The recognition highlights Cranford’s strong representation among countywide honorees, celebrating contributions in civic life, advocacy, and other community-focused efforts across Union County.    

2. New E-Bike Laws Coming: Cranford Urges Parents To Prepare (patch.com) — Cranford officials are urging parents and residents to learn New Jersey’s new e-bike rules before enforcement begins this summer, and the Police Department is holding information sessions at the Cranford Community Center. With licensing, registration, insurance, age limits, and helmet requirements taking effect statewide in July, families are encouraged to attend upcoming presentations to understand how the law will affect young riders locally.    

3. Cranford Officials Address Budget, Pool Memberships, and 750 Walnut Traffic Study (tapinto.net) — Cranford’s 2026 municipal budget and more than $8 million in capital projects are now approved, with officials stressing flood mitigation, road work, and no increase in township debt. Leaders also flagged lagging Orange Avenue Pool memberships and outlined a fall traffic study around the 750 Walnut Avenue development that will include neighborhood input.    

4. Affronti leads Cranford to shutout over Scotch Plains-Fanwood (nj.com subscription) — Cranford’s baseball team stayed hot with a 4-0 home win over Scotch Plains-Fanwood, sparked by 5.1 shutout innings from Alex Affronti and a four-run seventh inning. The Cougars, now on an eight-game winning streak, next travel to face Johnson this afternoon in the Union County Tournament quarterfinals.    

5. These are the top cover bands rocking the Shore this summer (app.com) — A Cranford-based cover band, Mushmouth, is among six groups highlighted as top draws on the Jersey Shore’s booming live music circuit this summer. The article explains how earlier showtimes and classic ’70s and ’80s hits are fueling a resurgence in cover band crowds, especially for fans 40 and older.
