CRANFORD, NJ — Cranford’s Memorial Day parade has been canceled because of continued bad weather, according to Cranford officials.
The annual Memorial Day ceremony honoring those who died in military service will instead be held indoors Monday at 10 a.m. in the Cranford High School auditorium. Doors will open at 9:40 a.m.
Officials said participants involved in the service, including flag holders, readers, and wreath layers, should arrive at the high school by 9 a.m.
The township said large handbags and backpacks will not be permitted inside the auditorium under Cranford Public Schools policy.
Residents needing handicap access are being directed to enter through the back parking lot near the bridge, where staff will assist visitors with elevator access into the building.
The service will also be televised and livestreamed on Cranford TV 35 through Facebook, YouTube, Livestream, Comcast, and Verizon channels.
