CRANFORD, NJ — A new parking payment system is set to roll out in Cranford beginning July 6, changing how drivers pay for parking in parts of the township.
Under the updated system, parking will no longer be tied to individual space numbers. Instead, payments will be linked directly to a vehicle’s license plate number.
Drivers will still be able to pay using multiple methods. Options include texting a zone number—found on posted parking signs—to 912-912-6729, using the mPay2Park mobile app, or using on-site pay stations where users can enter their license plate and pay by cash or credit card.
Township officials said the change is designed to update the way parking payments are processed and shift away from space-based identification.
The new system is scheduled to go into effect on July 6.
