• Local Event: Cranford Carve Out 2026 (patch.com) — Cranford families can look forward to the free JCAS Cranford Carve-Out & Parade of Pumpkins at Hanson Park on Saturday, October 17, featuring a pumpkin-lit garden stroll from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Residents of all ages are invited to drop off carved pumpkins earlier that day for a judged contest with cash prizes, while enjoying the festive atmosphere and hot cider for sale.
• There's a new team atop the Bellamy & Son Paving Top Ten after Phillipsburg falls at Ridge, and it's their first No. 1 ranking in BCC history (cjsportsradio.com) — Cranford High's football team holds the No. 7 spot in the latest Big Central Conference Top Ten, remaining undefeated at 5-0 after a tight 13-12 home win over Montgomery. The Cougars now prepare for a Friday night crossover game at South Plainfield, while other Union County and Central Jersey powers shuffle around them in the weekly rankings.
