Artists Paint the Town in 'Plein Air" event

Walking or driving around town the past four days, you may have noticed artists painting scenes of Cranford.

And they're here for one final day, as artists from around the country descend on Cranford to capture its beauty on canvas. Since June 9th, easels could be seen around town as artists worked their brushes, pencils, and chalks to bring the essence of Cranford onto their canvases. 

The headquarters for the event is at Joanie's Café, and the map of where the various artists are located can be obtained there.  This way, one can see the artist work on the painting first hand and be able to reflect on the scenery that inspired them. 

There will be a competition today among the artists, and the paintings will be for sale. You can find the artists downtown, in parks and by the riverbanks.

The event is hosted by Jersey Central Art Studios, the Cranford Chamber of Commerce, and the Cranford Downtown Management Corporation.
