Calvary Lutheran Church Invites You to Ash Wednesday Service
Find Rest and Renewal on Ash Wednesday

Calvary Lutheran Church invites you to Ash Wednesday service on Wednesday, March 6 at 1:15pm or 7:30pm. Join us as we mark the beginning of Lent and our 40-day journey to Easter. Both our afternoon and evening services include Holy Communion and the Imposition of Ashes.
At Calvary, our theme this year for the Season of Lent is "Reclaiming Sabbath." Pastor Carol Lindsay notes, “Living 24/7 might be how folks are wired right now but it's not how we were created. The Bible basically says, "No to the Culture of Now", to borrow a Walter Brueggeman phrase. We are hoping to learn some healthy boundaries that give us the permission to rest in this reflective season of the year. Sabbath isn't about rules - it's about wholeness.”
On Ash Wednesday, we gather to prepare our hearts and minds for the renewal of faith given to us through the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Pastor Carol says, “We invite others who are weary and stressed to join our worship on Ash Wednesday, as we introduce this theme, and throughout the upcoming Lenten season.”
