Cranford Blue Tops Gold in 12-Year-Old All Star Game

Down by six runs in the 4th inning, the Blue All Stars rallied to defeat the Gold All Stars 11-7.

The Cranford Blue All Stars fought back to defeat the Gold All Stars 11-7 in the 12-year-old All Star Game at Grall Field on Sunday.  The day kicked off with an exciting hitting derby that saw many long home runs over the fence and high into the trees.  The Gold team took an early 3-0 lead on a home run by Garret Forrestal, and later extended that lead to 6-0 into the fourth.

The Blue team finally got on the board on a long two run homer by Ryan Bakie.  Over the next three innings, timely hitting and stellar offense carried the Blue team to victory.

Special thanks are due to Bob Brunz for announcing the Hitting Derby and Joe Norton for doing a great job on the play-by-play.
