Cranford Bowlers Roll Past St. Mary’s For First Win
Cranford's bowling team cruised by 567 for their first win of the season.
It was a confidence-building afternoon for the up and coming Cranford bowling team, as they rolled past St. Mary's 7-0 for their first victory of the season.
The Cougars cruised by 567 pins, led by junior Michael Milwicz, who had the high series of 526, rolling a 187 and a 185 in his final two games.
"At the beginning, I wasn't doing too well, but at the end, I was picking up, had my hand under the ball, I was rolling it," he said. "We're getting a little more consistent. We're working on what we're having problems with. It's getting better."

Junior Chris Juliano was right in the mix with a 524 for his three games, capped by a 194 in the middle game. Sophomore Scott Belmont followed with a 183 in game two.
"Scott is bowling very well right now, he's definitely getting better," said Juliano. "He's made the most improvement I think so far."

"I think we did pretty well as a whole together, even though in the first game we didn't bowl as well as we hoped to, but I liked how we really picked it up and brought it together in the second and third games," said Belmont.
Tim Coda finished with a 160 during his second game, while Jason Fried, Thane Vollbrecht and Russ Hathaway helped the cause.
Coach Richard Goldstein said his team will continue to work on the little things to bring the averages up.
"Their averages are increasing a little bit, they did what they had to do today," said Goldstein. "I told them they needed to win all seven today in order to count that as a win, which they went out and did. We have a young team, but their averages have been increasing week after week, we're focusing on our practices, picking up more spares, a lot of their averages today proved that."
"This is really a good confidence booster," said Belmont. "Because then maybe we'll start having a good streak, maybe winning more games and that will be a lot better for us."
