Cranford Cops Pursue Suspect In 'Marvin The Martian' T-Shirt

CRANFORD, NJ — The Westfield Police Department sent out an alert around 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday advising people in the area to be on the look out for a suspect wanted to a motor vehicle theft. The suspect was described as a "black male, in his 20s, with short dreadlocks, a grey 'Marvin the Martian' t-shirt, blue shorts or jeans and a mask around his neck."

Police advised, "If anyone sees this suspect, or sees any suspicious activity in that area, please call 911 immediately."

According to the alert, the Cranford Police Department pursued a vehicle in connection with a motor vehicle theft. Four suspects bailed out in the area of Fairfield Avenue by Unami Park in Cranford, police said then fled towards the area of Twin Oaks Terrace and Grandview Avenue.

Four of the five suspects were apprehended, police said. The one who got away was wearing the t-shirt and temporarily unused mask.
