Cranford Man Among 5 Arrested On Drug-Related Charges: Blotter

A total of five people were arrested on drug-related charges and two arrested for driving while intoxicated: blotter

CRANFORD, NJ — A Cranford man was among five arrested on drug-related charges last week, according to police.

Brian Flesher, 19, Cranford was arrested for Possession of Marijuana (under 50g) and Possession of Paraphernalia, according to the Cranford Police blotter.

On Sept. 24 at 4:04 p.m., a 2010 Subaru was stopped at the intersection of Springfield Avenue and Tulip Street, when a passenger was observed throwing an object out the window.

Following an investigation at the scene, Ptl. Jordan located marijuana on a rear seat passenger, Flesher. He was arrested, processed, and released pending a Municipal Court Appearance. Flesher was also issued a motor vehicle summons for throwing debris from a motor vehicle, police reported.

On Sept. 20 at 11:29 p.m.: A 2006 Jeep was stopped for a seatbelt violation at the intersection of Centennial Avenue and the Garden State Parkway 136 Northbound Ramp. Following an investigation at the scene, Ptl. Federici located a quantity of marijuana inside the vehicle. The driver, DeAndre Mitchell, 24, of Avenel was arrested for Possession with Intent to Distribute (Marijuana), Possession of Marijuana(under 50g) and Possession of Paraphernalia, processed, and released pending a Superior Court Appearance in Elizabeth. Mitchell was issued motor vehicle summonses for failing to wear his seatbelt, driving while suspended, and having a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle.

On Sept. 22 at 9:01 p.m.: A 1996 Lexus was stopped for careless driving at the intersection of Centennial Avenue and Wall Street. While conducting an investigation at the scene, Ptl. Handy determined that the driver, Brian Smith, 57, Jersey City was driving while intoxicated. Smith was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated, processed, and released to a friend pending a Municipal Court Appearance. Smith was issued motor vehicle summonses for driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated within 1000 feet of a school, careless driving, failure to maintain lane, obstructed view, unclear plates, and refusal to submit to breath testing.

On Sept. 25 at 8:09 a.m.: A 2013 Toyota was stopped at the intersection of E. Lincoln Avenue and Severin Court for a seatbelt violation. Following an investigation at the scene, Ptl. Jordan located hypodermic syringes and drug paraphernalia on front seat passenger, Luis Robaina, 31, of Clark. Ptl. Jordan also located hypodermic syringes on rear seat passenger, Jennamarie Goydic, 32, Keasbey. Robaina and Goydic were arrested for Possession of Hypodermic Syringes and Possession of Paraphernalia, processed, and released pending a Municipal Court Appearance. Both were also issued motor vehicle summonses for failing to wear seat belts.

On Sept. 24 at 2:26 a.m.: A 2016 Toyota was stopped at the intersection of Centennial Avenue and GSP 136 NB for driving with no headlights illuminated. Following an investigation at the scene, Ptl. Galvez determined that the driver, Tiffany Delgado, 32, Newark was driving while intoxicated. Delgado was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated, processed, and released to a family member pending a Municipal Court Appearance. Delgado was issued motor vehicle summonses for driving while intoxicated, open container in a motor vehicle, driving without headlights, and careless driving.

On Sept. 23 at 8:29 p.m.: A 2008 Dodge was stopped at the intersection of E. North Ave. at the GSP 137 Ramp for a malfunctioning brake light. Following an investigation at the scene, Ptl. Donnerstag located cocaine inside the vehicle. The driver, Ashley Poff, 29, Roselle was arrested for Possession of CDS(Cocaine); Possession of Hypodermic Syringes; Possession of Paraphernalia and Contempt of Court, processed, and turned over to the Roselle Park Police Department on an active traffic related warrant. Poff was issued motor vehicle summonses for failure to maintain lamps, failure to exhibit documents, and having a controlled dangerous summons in a motor vehicle.
